Guidelines & Rules
First of all welcome to the Real Island Chat rooms, where you can chat with people from Vancouver Island and around the world who share a love of the Island.
Our chatrooms are open 24 hours a day for your enjoyment. What we ask is that you use your common sense and courtesy in the chat rooms, please be aware and remember that people can't hear your tone when you write or see your facial expressions. What might be a joke to you might not go over well with someone else who can't see you.
Please refrain from using controversial topics such as politics, race, religion, sex and advocacy (government) issues. We do not want to offend people. Off-colour remarks and jokes are not tolerated.
Open prayer isn't allowed in the chatrooms as well. It's not that we don't wish you to share your faith - but there is a time and place for it. That place isn't here.
Please refrain from flaming and criticizing other people in the chat rooms. You are more than welcome to disagree, but please use your common sense and know when to draw the line.
When you do sign up at Real Island Chat we would appreciate it if you kept your username for as long as you use our chat rooms. Coming in and out of the chat rooms using different names makes it hard for everyone. Nicknames are great - as long as they're not offensive.
